The American Music Research Center is presenting the Sixth Triennial Susan Porter Symposium, October 2 & 3, 2010. The topic is "Classic Broadway and Those Who Built It: Theatrical Work of American Jews, African Americans, and First Generation Immigrants in the 20th Century." Leading scholars in a variety of disciplines will present papers and lead discussions about this interesting subject. The keynote address "Theatrical Liberalism: The Backstage Musical as Secular Judaism," will be presented at 7:30 PM by Andrea Most, Professor of English at University of Toronto.
